For a few years, Rebuilding Together Twin Cities quietly went about its business of serving low-income homeowners who are elderly, disabled or families with children. Yet, more people in the Twin Cities live near or below poverty levels.Their numbers increase daily and include homeowners, some of whom have resided in the same community for years.

Our mission expands as the need grows, and we’re eager to share the news about it as our outreach efforts continue.

May 2008: Rebuilding Together Twin Cities announced that Midwest Home magazine will become a promotional sponsor. (Click HERE for more information.)

May 2008: Opus Northwest, L.L.C. and the Opus Foundation announce $50,000 Grant to Rebuilding Together Twin Cities to be used to rehabilitate and expand the Jerry Gamble Boys & Girls Club in North Minneapolis. An estimated 100 Twin Cities Opus Northwest employees will volunteer their time and put hammers, saws and paintbrushes to work on May 31st. (Click HERE for more information.)

January 2008: During the nationally-televised Tournament of Roses Parade New Year's Day, HGTV announced that the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul won the popular vote as part of HGTV's Change the World. December 2007: A Party of Miniature Proportions: Second Annual Bubba Gump’s Re-Building Block Party to benefit Rebuilding Together Twin Cities scheduled for May 4, 2008, in the rotunda at Mall of America. (Click HERE for more information.)

Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2007: Three Twin Cities projects need online votes to win support from HGTV's program, Change the World. Start at Home. Popular voting determines which city from a group of ten is selected. Voting deadline is December 21, 2007, and a person can vote once a day until the deadline date. Friday, Nov. 11, 2007: The Heroes at Home program started to repair the basic structure of the home of Sgt. Jonathan VanderWert and his family while he is in Iraq. Before Christmas, the finishing of the bathrooms and all bedrooms on the second floor, repairing all exposed wiring, painting bedrooms, and upgrading the kitchen will be completed.
